Richard is Managing Director of AEW UK and has 21 years of investment industry experience.
Before setting up AEW UK (formerly ArbreIM) Richard was a Managing Director of the UBS UK Real Estate team which he joined in 1994. He was responsible for investment strategy and new fund development, and was Chair of the European Product Strategy Committee. He was also the Fund Director of all UBS' UK funds. From 1989 to 1994 Richard worked at Hillier Parker, which now forms part of CBRE Investors. Prior to 1989, Richard managed a family farming partnership. Richard is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and a graduate of the University of London BSc (Hons) and Reading University (M.Phil).
Asset Management Director
Rachel is Asset Management Director of AEW UK and has 21 years of investment industry experience.
Before joining AEW UK (formerly ArbreIM) Rachel was the Chief Executive of The Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF), between 2004 and 2009. AREF's 70 member funds includes unlisted property vehicles promoted by all of the UK's leading Fund Managers with c. £40bn under management. Between 2002 and 2004 she was the Managing Director of REThink Real Estate, the UK's first real estate innovation consultancy. From 1994 to 2002 Rachel was a Director at UBS Global Asset Management and Fund Manager of Triton Property Fund. She was also responsible for external PUT analysis and management of fund gearing. Rachel is a is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), a graduate of the London School of Economics BSc (Hons), Reading University (MPhil) and the OU Business School (MBA) and holds the IMC.
Operations & Product Development Director
Catherine is Operations and Product Development Director of AEW UK and has 28 years of finance industry experience, 10 years of property experience.
Prior to joining AEW UK (formerly ArbreIM) she was Operations Manager for the UBS UK Real Estate team which she joined in 2005. Catherine was responsible for the day to day management of business and operational matters as well as managing the process for the creation of new fund structures. From 1994 to 2005 Catherine worked at UBS, in various roles ranging from operations internal controller to Head of Pooled Fund Dealing & Transitions Team as well as Business Analyst in Equities and Bonds. Prior to 1994 Catherine was an internal auditor for Nat West Markets. Catherine is a graduate of the Universitaire de Technologie; Paris XIII.
Nick is Investment Director of AEW UK and has 10 years of investment industry experience.
Before joining AEW UK (formerly ArbreIM), Nick was a Director within the UBS UK Real Estate team which he joined in 2007. During his time at UBS Nick worked with the Investment Team responsible for property acquisitions and sales for the UK property funds, was Portfolio Manager for the UBS Secure Income Property Fund and was a member of the UK Investment Committee governing all UK property funds. From 2000 to 2007, Nick was an Associate Director at Colliers CRE where he specialised in valuation, landlord & tenant, agency, investment and development. Nick is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth BSc (Hons), a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and holds the IMC.
Client Relationship & Capital Raising Director
Dana is Client Relationship and Capital Raising Director for AEW UK and has 18 years of investment industry experience.
Before joining AEW UK (formerly ArbreIM) Dana was an Executive Director at UBS where, for the past 9 years, she was responsible for managing UK client and consultant relationships. She was also responsible for driving the UK consultant review process for the full range of UBS Global commercial property offerings. In addition Dana's remit included the Business Development of the UK real estate team's three UK funds and emerging market opportunities inChina and India. Prior to moving to the UK, Dana spent more than 10 years working in a variety of senior marketing positions including Head of Marketing, Australasia for AXAand Head of Marketing, Australia for Citigroup. Education: Royal Melbourne University Technology BA (Inc), IMC holder.
Andrew has 31 years of investment industry experience, is a member of the Real Estate Advisory Board of Norges Bank Investment Management and non-executive Director of Capital Shopping Centres PLC and Capital Counties PLC. Prior to joining Liberty International PLC (renamed Capital and Counties Properties) he was Managing Director of Threadneedle Property Investment Limited for 17 years.
He is also Chairman of Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Limited. Andrew started his career thirty years ago with Richard Ellis where he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor. He is a Director of the British Property Federation.
James has 43 years of experience in the investment industry, is a member of the Investment Committees of Gresham Property and the Investment Committee of Columbus UK Real Estate Funds LLP.
He was until recently a member of the Investment Committee of ING Lionbrook Property Partnership, CBRE Investors and a consultant to UBS Global Asset Management Limited. He also served as a Non-Executive director of Raven Mount plc including being Chairman of their main subsidiary's pension fund. From 1998-2002, he served as a non-Executive Director at Saville Gordon Estates plc, latterly as Chairman. From 1990 to 1998 he was Head of Property at PDFM Limited (now UBS Global Asset Management Limited). From 1986 to 1990 he was a Director of Property Corporate Finance at UBS Phillips & Drew. James Hyslop joined Phillips & Drew in 1967 where he held various sales and research positions before being appointed a partner in 1981.
George has 30 years of investment industry experience.
George joined Hymans Robertson in 1990 as a fund manager, being made an owning partner in 1996. He retired in 2010 and retains a consultancy role. His remit on joining Hymans Robertson was to develop the nascent investment practice which grew from 2 to 70 employees over the next twenty years. George has worked with a wide range of clients both in the private and public sectors, including defined benefit and defined contribution schemes. He is well known in the pensions industry for his pragmatic views on investment and pensions matters and he has occasionally demonstrated a willingness to hold views which may be considered "unconventional".
In June 2011, AEW UK appointed George as an external consultant.
