Managing Director, AEW UK
Richard brings 26 years of real estate investment management experience to AEW UK. Richard was a Managing Director of the UBS UK Real Estate team which he joined in 1994. He was responsible for investment strategy, new fund development and was Chair of the European Product Strategy Committee.
He was responsible for the development and portfolio management of seven real estate funds totalling £3bn and ranging from super core to value add.

Asset Management Director, AEW UK
Before joining AEW UK, Rachel was Chief Executive of The Association of Real Estate Funds (AREF), between 2004 and 2009. AREF’s 70 member funds includes unlisted property vehicles promoted by all of the UK’s leading Fund Managers with c. £40bn under management. Between 2002 and 2004 she was the Managing Director of REThink Real Estate, the UK’s first real estate innovation consultancy.
From 1994 to 2002, Rachel was a Director at UBS Global Asset Management and Fund Manager of Triton Property Fund. She was also responsible for external PUT analysis and management of fund gearing.

Operations and Product Development Director, AEW UK
Catherine was operations manager for the UBS Real Estate team which she joined in 2005. She was responsible for the day-to-day management of business and operational matters as well as managing the process for the creation of new fund structures.
From 1994 to 2005, Catherine worked at UBS in various roles, ranging from operations internal controller to Head of the Pooled Fund Dealing & Transitions Team as well as business analyst in Equities and Bonds. Before 1994, Catherine was an internal auditor for NatWest Markets.

Investment Director, AEW UK
Nick was previously a Director within the UBS UK Real Estate team which he joined in 2007. During his time at UBS Nick worked with the investment team responsible for property acquisitions and sales for the UK property funds, was Portfolio Manager for the UBS Secure Income Property Fund and was a member of the UK Investment Committee governing all UK property funds.
From 2000 to 2007, Nick was an Associate Director at Colliers CRE where he specialised in valuation, landlord & tenant, agency, investment and development.

Client Relationship and Capital Raising Director, AEW UK
Before joining AEW UK Dana was an Executive Director at UBS where, for nine years, she was responsible for managing UK client and consultant relationships. She was also responsible for driving the UK consultant review process for the full range of UBS Global commercial property offerings. In addition Dana’s remit included the business development of the UK real estate team’s three UK funds and emerging market opportunities in China and India. Prior to moving to the UK Dana spent more than 10 years working in a variety of senior marketing positions including Head of Marketing, Australasia for AXA and Head of Marketing, Australia for Citigroup.

Fund Manager, AEW UK
Alex held a Business and Client Management role at UBS Global Asset Management which she joined in 2010. She was a member of the GRE-UK Investment Committee and provided a management and support role to the team.
From 2004 to 2010, Alex worked at UBS in various roles, Portfolio Manager for UBS SERF and Portfolio Manager for UBS Triton Before 2004, Alex worked at ING Real Estate within the Acquisition Team and at Gooch Webster within the Asset Management and Investment departments.
Education – Oxford Brookes University BSc (Hons), Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), UKSIP Investment Management Certificate, FCA approved.
Ian joined AEW in 2015. He was previously Fund Manager of Schroder's UK Property Fund between 2008-2013 where he focused on delivering a sustainable income steam from a blend of traditional and alternative sectors (healthcare, car show rooms, student accommodation).
Prior to Schroder's, Ian was at Blackrock where he devised strategies that focused on the needs of occupiers. Ian pioneered the use of indirects in a direct property strategy, together with investment in Alternatives (marinas, doctors' surgeries).
He is a past Chairman of AREF (Association of Real Estate Funds) and Chair of the Regulation Committee. He is a passionate advocate of listed and unlisted funds for long term savers, leading or participating in lobbying of government, HMRC and FCA.
Associate Director, AEW UK
Laura joined AEW in March 2013 and focuses on sourcing and executing direct investments within all property sectors for the AEW UK funds and separate mandates.
Prior to joining the team, Laura worked as a Senior Surveyor at Colliers International, most recently within the National Investment team which she joined in 2010. Laura carried out the acquisition and disposal of various investment properties across the UK specialising in leisure related RPI linked leases.
Previously she worked within Colliers Specialist Division carrying out valuation, landlord & tenant, occupational agency and development work for roadside and automotive related properties.

Associate, AEW UK
David joined AEW Europe in May 2013 before moving to AEW UK in August 2014. At AEW Europe he worked between the investment and asset management teams with a focus on investment underwriting and modelling. At AEW UK David works solely on the investment side and has been responsible for a number of transactions across all AEW UK funds. Prior to AEW he completed his APC at Knight Frank where he worked in the corporate recovery team. David completed internships at Aviva Investors - Real Estate, Nomura - Structured Credit and Ernst and Young - Private Equity.

Asset Manager, AEW UK
Michael is Asset Manager of AEW UK and has over 11 years of property industry experience and before joining AEW UK, Michael was at DTZ. From 2010 he worked in the Investment and Development Agency Team, whereby he advised on property acquisitions and sales within the South West of England, with the majority of transactions being on behalf of the UK property funds. From 2006 he was working in both a Professional Advisory Services and Valuation capacity, although specialising in retail landlord and tenant advice. Prior to DTZ he worked in a business space agency role in Southampton.
Education - Michael is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), and a graduate of the University of Portsmouth BSc (Hons).
Associate Director – AEW UK
Charles joined AEW UK as Assistant Portfolio Manager on the AEW UK South East Office Fund. Charles is responsible for the Asset Management of the value add fund, whilst also assisting the Portfolio Manager.
Before joining AEW UK, Charles was an Asset Manager for the Apia Regional Office Fund for Hansteen Holdings plc responsible for assets over a wide UK geographical spread. Prior to this, Charles was employed by DTZ as an Associate Director, Corporate Real Estate Management.
Charles became of Member of RICS in March 2007, passed IMC in May 2014 and holds a BSc, Land Management from Reading University.
Associate, AEW UK
Andrew Joined AEW in December 2014 and focuses on asset management, particularly on retail, for the UK funds and separate mandates.
Prior to joining the team, Andrew worked as an Associate Director at JLL within the Retail Management team, with responsibility for the day to day management of five shopping centres in the South of England.
Previously, Andrew worked in the Portfolios team at JLL with responsibility for the day to day management of the USS industrial portfolio.
Education – Chartered Surveyor (MRICS); Sheffield Hallam University – MSc Property Appraisal and Management; Leeds University – BA (Hons) Sociology.
Associate, AEW UK
Henry joined AEW UK in January 2015 and currently oversees the asset management of various properties throughout the UK in both the Core and REIT funds.
Prior to joining AEW UK, Henry worked at Knight Frank in the Restructuring & Recovery team, optimising value through cost-effective work-out strategies on distressed assets on behalf of banks and building societies. In October 2014 Henry became a Fellow of NARA (The Association of Property and Fixed Charge Receivers), qualifying as a Registered Property Receiver.
Before his days working in Insolvency, Henry worked in Knight Frank’s Hotels department as well as spending six months on secondment at Land Securities, working in the London Portfolio division.
Professional qualifications – Henry is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) and also a member of NARA, The Association of Property and Fixed Charge Receivers (FNARA).
Education – Henry is a History graduate of Newcastle University (BA Hons) and a Real Estate Postgraduate of the University of Reading (MSc).
Analyst, AEW UK
Edward joined AEW UK in August 2015. He previously worked in the National Investment department at Gerald Eve specialising in the acquisition and disposal of commercial properties across the UK. He provided investment advice and support to a wide range of clients including UK funds and institutions, property companies and developers.
Education – Reading University BSc, Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).
Operations Associate Director, AEW UK
Jon joined AEW in September 2013 and focuses on operational oversight and risk management for the AEW UK funds.
Prior to joining the team, Jon was Head of Real Estate Fund Accounting at JPMorgan for three years where he was responsible for providing accounting and operational platforms for real estate clients (Aviva and Tristan Capital Partners). Jon previously was Fund Controller at Macquarie Global Property Advisors for five years where he was responsible for finance and operations for two pan-European private equity funds with over €1bn A.U.M.
Jon qualified as a Chartered Accountant at PWC where he worked for 7 years specialising solely with clients in the Real Estate sector, mainly Land Securities Plc and Legal & General Property.
Education - Jon is a Chartered Accountant (ACA), and a graduate of the University of Loughborough BSc (Hons).
Chair, Governance Committee
Prior to 1990, George worked as a money manager in Glasgow (with the Scottish Mutual Assurance Society, where he trained as an Actuary). He joined Hymans Robertson in that year as a Partner, responsible for developing their Investment Consultancy Practice. Over the 20-year period when he headed up the Practice, he worked with a wide range of clients, both in the public and private sectors, including defined benefit and defined contribution schemes. He became well known in the pensions industry for his pragmatic views on investment and he occasionally demonstrated a willingness to hold views which may have been considered "controversial". George retired from the Firm in 2010 but worked for three years as a consultant.
George was appointed a consultant to AEW UK in June 2011 and, in June 2012, AEW UK appointed George as Independent Chairman of the AEW Core Fund Governance Committee.
James is currently a member of the Investment Committee of Columbus UK Real Estate Fund and was until recently on the Investment Committees of Gresham Real Estate Fund 1 & 11 and Columbus UK Real Estate Fund 11 (all Schroders Funds).
He was also until recently a Member of the Investment Committee of ING Lionbrook Property Partnership, CBRE Investors and a consultant to UBS Global Asset Management Limited. He also served as a non-executive Director of Raven Mount plc, including being Chairman of their main subsidiary’s pension fund.
From 1998 to 2002 he served as a non-executive Director at Saville Gordon Estates plc, latterly as Chairman.
From 1990 to 1998, James was Head of Property at PDFM Limited (now UBS Global Asset Management Limited). From 1986 to 1990, he was a Director of Property Corporate Finance at UBS Phillips & Drew. James joined Phillips & Drew in 1967 where he held various sales and research positions before being appointed a partner in 1981.
Andrew is currently a non-executive director of Intu Properties PLC and Capital and Counties Properties PLC. He is also a member of the Real Estate Advisory Board of Norges Bank Investment Management.
He was Chairman of Hermes Real Estate until 2011, and prior to that managing director of Threadneedle Property Investment Limited for 17 years.
Andrew is also a Board Member of the Pollen Estate Trustee Company Limited.
