Chairman

Jeffrey Furber is Chairman of AEW Europe and Chief Executive Officer of AEW Capital Management. Jeff has oversight responsibility for all of AEW's operating business units in the United States, Europe and Asia. He also chairs the firm's various Management Committees which are responsible for AEW's strategic direction and for managing the Group's resources. He is a member of the firm's Investment Committees and Investment Policy Group. Jeff joined AEW in 1997 from Winthrop Financial Associates, a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Advisors, where he served as Managing Director of Winthrop and as President of Winthrop Management. In these capacities, he was responsible for acquisitions, asset management and capital markets activity, including the sourcing of equity and mezzanine debt investments. Jeff is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Business School.

Christian Delaire

Chief Executive Officer

Christian Delaire is Chief Executive Officer of AEW Europe. In this capacity, he oversees approximately €17 billion in real estate and has responsibility for AEW Europe's strategic direction and for managing the firm's resources. He is also a member of AEW Europe's Investment Committee.

A French national, Christian joined AEW Europe from AXA Real Estate Investment Managers, where he served as Global Chief Investment Officer. He spent 15 years with AXA in various positions including Head of Transactions France, Head of Asset Management France and Global Head of Corporate Finance. Christian began his career with KPMG and holds a graduate degree from ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Mireille Chetioui

General Secretary

Mireille Chetioui is AEW Europe's General Secretary. Her responsibilities cover Corporate functions - Corporate Finance and Reporting, Insurance and Risk Management; Legal, Corporate Development and HR - and support services - Tax structuring and Financing, Legal and third-party Accounting. Mireille has spent much of her career with CDC. Prior to joining AEW Europe, Mireille was the CFO of Ixis Asset Management in Paris where she contributed significantly in their international growth. Before, she was the CFO of Transdev, a pan-European public transportation group owned by CDC.

Mireille is graduated from ESCP business school in Paris and is a member of the French Auditors' Association and a chartered surveyor in France.

Eric Donnet

Chief Operating Officer and Head of Asset Management

Eric Donnet is Chief Operating Officer and Head of Asset Management at AEW Europe. In this capacity, he manages a team of 40 professionals and is in charge of over €17 billion of assets under management.

Prior to joining AEW Europe, Eric was a Director at Bail Investissement, one of the major French real estate listed companies, managing €1.6 billion of assets. He was also Managing Director of Addvim (asset management) and Deltis (property management), two subsidiaries of General Electric Real Estate. Within this role, he managed a team of 60 dedicated professionals based in Paris. He holds the title of French Certified Public Accountant and is a graduate of the ICN business school and has a masters degree from the University of Nancy (France).

Russell Jewell

Managing Director, Head of Private Equity Funds

Russell Jewell has been active in the European real estate markets for over 25 years. After obtaining a degree in Urban Land administration in 1981, Russell trained initially as a Chartered Surveyor in London before moving to Spain in 1988 where he was a Partner at Jones Lang Wooton in Madrid and subsequently at Healey&Baker in Barcelona. Returning to the UK in 1994, he was a Fund manager at Pacific Investments and then moved to Merrill Lynch in 1998 where he was Head of Global Principal investments (GPI) for Europe for 8 years. GPI invested the firm's capital in a variety of opportunistic real estate equity and mezzanine positions across Europe and included financing the acquisition of two major European public property companies, Haslemere Estates and Green Properties. In 2006 Russell Joined Strategic Value Partners, a hedge fund focusing on building a substantial German real estate portfolio and on the acquisition of European real estate debt and CMBS.

He joined AEW Europe in July 2011 as Head of Private Equity Funds.


Jean Lavieille

Deputy Chief Investment Officer

Jean Lavieille holds the position of Co-Head of Funds Portfolio Management at AEW Europe. In 1989, he joined the real estate department of Caisse des Dépôts. From 1992 to 1997, he implemented the investment policy of CDC in Central Europe, where assets up to €300 million were acquired and transferred in 2002 as seed assets to the PBW Fund. In 1999, he created the fund Logistis I which invested €300 million in grade A buildings over 700,000 sqm. In 2003-2004, Jean created both Logistis II and PREF ; Logistis II raised €220 million and has an investment capacity of €500 million in French, Spanish and Italian grade A logistics. The PREF fund is devoted to investors from the Middle East willing to invest up to €200 million in French real estate. Jean is also responsible for FONDIS, a fund specialised in French high street and out-of-town retail, targeting a total investment of €230 million. Jean is a graduate of Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) and has completed post graduate courses at the Institut Français de Gestion (IFG) and at INSEAD.

Schalk Visser is Head of Investor Relations for AEW Europe.

He joined AEW Europe as Managing Director - Head of Investor Relations after 16 years experience in managing institutional relationships and joins AEW Europe from CBRE Investors where he worked as a Senior Director since 2008, responsible for raising investment capital from institutional investors across continental Europe and the UK. Schalk received his CFA Charter in 2001 and earned a Bcom Honours degree in Investment Management from the University of Johannesburg.

Rob Wilkinson is Chief Investment Officer of AEW Europe.

He joined AEW Europe after five years with Goodman Group in Paris where he held various positions as Managing Director. He also led development, structuring and equity raising for new and existing funds. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Rob started his career as an auditor with KPMG and held positions with UBS Investment Banking and Eurohypo before joining Goodman Group.

Laurent Babelon

Co-Head of Investments, Europe

Laurent Babelon is Co-Head of Investments, Europe in Paris. Laurent was previously the CIO and lead the French investment for separate accounts and funds. He joined from ING Real Estate Investment Management France where he was responsible for the Transactions department and support of asset management activities. Before joining ING in 2006, Laurent was a director of investments at AEW Europe in Paris. Laurent, a law graduate, is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Head of Germany

Stephan Boenning is Managing Director of AEW Europe in Düsseldorf. Here he is responsible for the acquisition of real estate single assets and portfolios. Stephan has been working in the real estate business for almost 15 years and prior to this role in AEW Europe he held various senior level positions. He was Managing Director of AXA Investment Managers and Aachener Grundvermögen, both A German Kapitalanlagegesellschaft, where he was in charge of real estate investments and fund managing.

Before that he worked for WestInvest, a company of DEKA Investments as leader of the investment departement. In this role, he was originated new investments of around €3.5 billion. Stephan is a graduate of the Fachhochschule Nuertingen.

Luc Bordereau

Head of Fund, Separate Account and Club Deals Operations and Financing

Luc Bordereau is Executive Director, Head of Fund, Separate Account and Club Deal Operations and Financing. He manages a team of 18 professionals in the financial structuring of Funds and Club deals. He joined AEW Europe in 2004 as Fund Controller before being promoted at the end of 2010 to the position he currently holds. He was previously a supervisor for Ernst & Young Audit after being Financial Controller in an affiliate company of the Lafarge Group in Germany. Luc has a 15 years professional expertise in the industry, financial and corporate real estate sectors.

He holds a graduate degree from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Reims (ESC REIMS) and from Ingénierie Financière de la Sorbonne (Paris I) and DESCF.

Isabelle Clerc

Head of Asset Management Central Europe

Isabelle Clerc is Head of Asset Management in Central Europe.

Isabelle is in charge of the development of asset management in Central Europe where she manages over €1 billion of assets in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. Prior to joining AEW Europe in 2009, she worked at Unibail as Director of Investment Management Retail France. Previously, she had held the position of Senior Manager in the Real Estate Financial Services division of Andersen / Ernst & Young Corporate Finance for ten years, before joining BNP Paribas REIM as Director, Product Structuring - ALM & Marketing for two years, then RREEF Real Estate Opportunity Funds where she  worked as vice president - Senior Asset Manager for a year. Isabelle holds an engineering degree from the French grande ecole Ponts et Chaussées as well as the DESCF accountancy and finance degree. She is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

François Grandvoinnet is responsible for the asset management of the office and residential properties at AEW Europe and manages €4.4 billion of investments. Before joining AEW Europe, he worked for AXA REIM where he was responsible for a €1 billion portfolio of offices and shopping centres comprising mainly heavily refurbished or under development properties. Previously, François managed the German office of CBRE Investors and asset management for Archon Group. François holds a Masters in Business Administration(MSG) from the Dauphine University in Paris and is graduate in Accountancy( DECF).

Marie-Hélène Helleux

Head of Separate Account and Club Deals

Marie-Hélène manages the relationships with separate account clients and Club Deals development.

She joined AEW Europe in 2008 as head of Portfolio Operations. She has been working within the finance and real estate fields for 20 years, principally in Caisse des Dépôts and BPCE banking group. As senior manager and Director, she was involved in corporate finance, M&A, real estate SPV and funds and was responsible for the Investment Committee group. Marie-Hélène is graduated from Sciences Po Paris, Dauphine University, and SFAF (the French Society of Financial Analyst).

Merrick Marshall

Head of Asset Management UK and Germany

Merrick Marshall is Executive Director of Portfolio and Asset Management at AEW Europe responsible for over €3 billion of assets under management across eight European countries. In addition, he coordinates the interaction between AEW investment and asset management teams for AEW Europe fund assets.

Prior to joining AEW Europe in 2007 Merrick was Director and Joint Head of Shopping Centres at The British Land Company plc where his responsibilities included the strategic investment performance of a UK/Eire portfolio in excess of €1.4 billion as well as overall responsibility for the asset management team. Before British Land he was Head of Business Development/Senior Asset Manager at Celexa REIM (subsequently Aberdeen AM) and has worked for several leading listed UK property companies undertaking large-scale retail developments/refurbishments and general investment/asset management.

Merrick is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and holds an Investment Diploma from the Investment Property Forum. He graduated from the University of Exeter with a Combined Honours degree in History and Politics.

Mahdi Mokrane

Head of Research and Strategy

Mahdi Mokrane has been Head of Research and Strategy at AEW Europe since 2004. His responsibilities cover investment underwriting, strategic analysis for AEW's various capital pools, publications, investment portfolio construction including acquisitions and disposals and new markets coverage.

Prior to joining AEW Europe, Mahdi worked for IPD in France from 2001 as Director of Research and Training. He was involved in developing portfolio analysis, research and training services in France. Before IPD, Mahdi was Associate Professor of Economics and Finance, University of Cergy, and ESSEC Business School (France) where he taught investment valuation, finance and economics. He also held a consultant position for the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) on securitisation issues. His background is in mathematics and statistics (Dauphine University), and he holds a PhD in economics and finance from EHESS. He is a member of several professional and academic organisations: co-chair of INREV's Research Committee, member of the ICSC Europe's Research Group and past President of the French real estate research association (AREIM). Mahdi also sits on the Scientific Council of the EDHEC IEIF Index of French Commercial Real Estate and on the IPD France Index Committee.

Ronan O'Donoghue

Head of Financing and Fund Operations

Ronan O’Donoghue is an Executive Director in AEW Europe’s London office and is Head of Financing and Fund Operations for the Group’s London based pan European Funds.

Ronan has been working in the real estate business for almost 15 years and prior to this role in AEW Europe he was Chief Financial Officer of Quinlan Private based in Dublin, Ireland where he was responsible for banking relationships, risk management, tax structuring and corporate financial control for the group which had €10Bn of assets under management. Ronan helped structure the groups first pan European real estate Fund for equity from US institutional and HNW investors.

Previously he spent four years as Director responsible for financing and tax structuring, with Curzon Global Partners based in London. A graduate of University College Cork and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounts in Ireland Ronan has also held positions in KPMG and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds.
